The Bible says that God wants every true follower of Jesus to serve others. Jesus himself set the example for us. He said, “whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:27-28)

God has given to every Christian certain unique abilities, and He intends for us to use them in life-changing service to each other and to the world. Greater Portland provides many opportunities for significant service in the church, in the Portland metro area, and internationally.
